How Often Should I Change My Oil?
Your vehicle’s performance and fuel economy are dependent on how often you change its oil. This also helps ensure a long life for your car, truck, or SUV. Newer models are equipped with Oil Life Monitoring System, which indicates it is time to change your oil. For older models that do not have an Oil Life Monitoring System, Buick GMC recommends changing your oil every 5,000 miles.
Conventional Oil: Basic motor oil which protects against deposit build up, viscosity break down and wear over time.
High Mileage Oil: Best used in engines with 75,000 miles or more. Contains a special blend of additives to help with the general wear and tear that older engines can be prone to.
Synthetic Oil: (Most used and recommended by Buick GMC) Synthetic oil is the recommended type for many vehicles. It helps to prolong the engine’s life, and offers better protection at higher temperatures. This is generally the highest protection among all other oil types.
